Plan Your Visit
We welcome any and all people to join with us on Sunday mornings to worship God and to learn principles from the Bible. We emphasize the community of believers worshiping together on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. Our services will always be biblically centered and our emphasis will always be on worshiping the God who made us and who is infinitely worthy of our praise!
The worship style at Gold Canyon Community Church is contemporary with a full band. Gold Canyon Community Church is an interdependent church that preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible and is committed to being biblically sound. We emphasize the "community" aspect of our name because we believe that church is a place where people who come as they are experience the transforming power of Jesus' work on the cross and grow together to serve God and others. We are a church that treasures God and His Word above all else!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long are your worship services?
Worship services at GCCC generally last 70-90 minutes.
What happens during the worship service?
Our worship band leads us in a mixture of newer songs and hymns, which allows us to worship Jesus. The service often includes other elements like communion, scripture readings, or video clips. Pastor Dave Abbatacola brings a message from the Bible which is relevant to our lives today. Because we try to incorporate different creative elements, we recommend attending 2 different Sundays to get a feel for our services.
Will there be a live preacher?
Yes, every week. Our Lead Pastor, Dave Abbatacola, brings the message every Sunday. He enjoys teaching through books of the Bible. Each week’s message leads us to study a text from the Bible and make application to our lives today. On the rare occasion when Pastor Dave isn’t preaching, a guest minister brings us the message.
What should I wear?
You’ll see people wearing all kinds of attire from shorts and sandals to suit coats and dresses. Dress however you feel comfortable.
What do you have available for children?
We have exciting programs for children from birth through 8th grade.
Our nursery is available for children from birth to pre-school. Parents are welcome to bring their children 15 minutes prior to the worship service.
All children and students participate in the worship service with the adults. Once worship in singing is over children K-6th grade and students in junior and senior high are dismissed to their own classes in the youth center.
We also have mid-week programs on Tuesdays for kids in K-6th grades and Wednesdays for students in 7th-12th grades from 5-7PM. All are welcome and dinner is served each night.
Will I be singled out if I’m new?
No way! However, we will go out of our way to make you feel welcome and included. Every week is someone’s first Sunday at GCCC. Our goal is for you to feel at home when you attend.
Will communion be served?
At GCCC, we typically take communion together on the last Sunday of each month. Communion is also available every week for believers to take individually.
What’s next after I attend a service?
We encourage you to fill out a connect card to ask any questions or share prayer requests you may have. Also, one of the best ways to get to know our church is by joining a home group. Our groups meet in homes throughout the week. These groups dig deeper into the sermon from Sunday and the passage we studied. If you want to learn more about these groups, please use the form below to send a message.
We understand that many times people find church boring, irrelevant, unfriendly or judgmental - and that's just for starters - and we are here to say that it doesn't have to be that way! Our desire is to see people in the Gold Canyon-Apache Junction area come to know Christ in a personal and transforming way. We think that church can be the kind of place you actually look forward to going to, not a place you can't wait to leave. Sound like something you'd be interested in checking out? Why not visit us this Sunday? We look forward to serving you, so come and see what the church can be!
